How many females are supporting Hillary just because she is female?
Q. How many of you have the courage to state that is your reason for supporting her? I have no problems in having a female president, but not this one !
Asked by FullMast - Fri Feb 1 12:48:59 2008 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Not me! In fact, her asking me to vote for her just because we have the same physical traits is enough to make me vote for someone else just to spite her. I refuse to let gender (or skin color, or religion or sexual preference) be the deciding factor in who I vote for.

WIll a male or female puppy get along better with a 3yr old female cat?
Q. We just moved into a big house, so my husband wants to get a dog. We have a 3yr old female torti cat that is truly the queen of the house! I am wondering, if we get a female puppy could there be competitional issues, or if a male might cause dominance issues. Does it even matter, or is the specific breed of dog more important?

A. Breed is more important than sex. Look for a breed that is known to get along with small animals or is likely to ignore them completely. A cocker spaniel or pitbull wouldn't be a wise choice ;-) I've had a german shepherd get along great with cats. If you're worried that you might get the odd one of a breed not known to chase cats, but decides to anyway...consider getting an adult dog from a shelter. Personality already formed (little to no training required) you'll know from the jump if the dog is interested in cats. Most shelters will tell you if the dog will fit nicely into your lifestyle and family (other pets included).

How to get an older female cat and a younger female to accept each other and get along?
Q. I have a 6yr old female cat and a new 5 month old female cat. The older one feels really put out and hasn't been the same with me. She also chases the younger one around my apartment and is quite aggresive with her. How can I reasure my older cat and how can I help them get along??? Please help!!

A. Cats are territorial, so any new cat is initially seen as an unwelcome intruder who may be trying to take their place. Her behaviour towards the kitten is normal, as she's trying to protect her territory and hopes that her hostile reaction will make the kitten leave. Start off by confining the kitten to a separate room with her own litter tray, food etc.. This gives the kitten chance to settle into her new home in peace, whilst your older cat having the run of the whole apartment, feels reassured that she is still in control of territory. Gradually allow them to "meet" each other by smell, before you attempt to introduce them face to face. The links below have lots of good advice on how to do this which you may find helpful. Q. A. I would not recommend a fishbowl (no matter what size) for any fish. A small fishbowl is not the best way to keep a Betta. However because of their air breathing organ, a Betta is one of the few fish they may survive in an unfiltered fish bowl. If you are wanting to breed your Betta, I would suggest that you get a 10-gallon aquarium for breeding purposes and a 5-gallon aquarium as your main aquarium. You do not need a female specifically aged. I would suggest that you buy three females for the male. On occasion, males have killed females during mating and after. Plus, if you want to house the females with the male, you will need three to keep female aggression down. In the 10-gallon breeder tank when I introduced a female to the male,… [cont.]

What causes the female dog to make a yelping noise like she is in pain when being mated?
Q. My female dog was outside last night and we didn't realize she was in heat until we heard her "yelping" and chased the male dog away from her. Could she be pregnant, in other words, at what stage is it painful for a female dog. The male dog was chased away as soon as we heard her.

A. I dont see how you didnt notice ur female was in heat, you would notice blood. Unless she is an outdoor dog; but if that is the case why on earth do you even have a dog? Anyway here is ur answer: If she is still bleeding and is yelping, its because she is not ready to mate and the male keeps trying. If she is still bleeding, most likely she is not pregnant. And if they didn't tie then most likely she is not pregnant. Now if she is not bleeding then he probably hurt her or she is just not wanting it is all.

How do you tell when a Sheltie female is in heat and ready to breed?
Q. We want to breed a Sheltie female with our Sheltie male and don't know a lot. So, how do you tell when the female is in heat and ready to mate? And, also, how old should the female be? We want to wait until a good age for the female.

A. Idealy you want to wait until her second heat cycle. She will be a much better mother then and she will be fully develped and physically capable to handle a litter of puppies. Has she gone into heat at all yet? HOw old is she? She should go into her first heat cycle between the ages of 4 adn 8 months of age. Then, she will have her second heat cycle about six months later - give or take a month. She should be ready to breed somewhere between 7 and 10 days after the start of her cycle. You will know she's ready when she 'stands' for your male. Meaning when she stands still for him w/o running, bitting, or nipping at him and lets him mount her. You can find a lot of useful information at - this lady has loads of information… [cont.]

Do Female Fighting Fish Get Along With Other Females?
Q. I am thinking of breeding my male fighting fish with a female. I had quikly read that females get along with other females. Is this true? It would be great if they could because I have a pretty big tank.

A. A group of females is generally OK in a large tank. Take care just putting 2 or 3 in a small tank, they may fight. Not as bad as males of course. But a larger group should be OK as long as they have some space. Ian

How do I introduce my female rat to a male?
Q. I have found an owner of a male rat in London. Should I take my female to him or the other way round. Is it enough to leave them together for the night? The next day I will exchange my female for my other female. What is the chance of one of them getting pregnant? If not how long to wait before trying again? What do I do if I end up with two many children. The other rat owner will take half of them. If this works out well I plan to set up a dating agency for rats.

A. The best way would to probably take the female to the male. I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to leave them together overnight. you may have to keep and eye on them to makesure they dont fight. when i use to breed rats i put them together in a spear cage but i always put the male in first. if it does not work the first time i would suggest leaving it about a month. If you end up with too many rat babies you could either sell them too a pet shop, or give them too someone who has a snake, sounds harsh but frozen rats can be rather expensive to buy..(Also you could give a breeding pair to a snake owner so they could breed there own snakes) Or you could give the rat babies to me i love rats!!!

Are female betta fish good pet fish to have like the male bettas?
Q. I know that the females are less colorful and are smaller without the long fins, but I am just wondering if female bettas usually have a longer (sometimes) lifespan like 3-4 years like males can have. A. Female bettas are very fun to have, I actually love my all-female betta 55 gallon tank. I plan to add some other fish to it, but right now I just have 12 females, they're very active and have all claimed little territories. If you plan on getting a female, think about maybe buying a ten gallon tank, cycling it, and adding 5-6 females. You need more than 2-3 females, because the aggression won't be spread out enough. I had my luck with 6 females in ten gallons before I just added them all to the 55 tank. There are plenty of different colors, and they aren't always as dull. The stripes you may see on the bettas at stores are called stress stripes and they'll go away when they're happy, giving them a pretty color once more. I have… [cont.]

A. Females come in about all the colors males do now, so that's really up to you. Personally, I like my bettas (males or females) to have some variation in colors so you can tell them apart. In a 5 gallon, I wouldn't try more than 3 females. If they are too crowded, they'll fight more often. How many female bettas do you already have? Adding a single is never a good idea - the established fish will pick on it till it stops eating and dies. It's best to add females in a group of at least two so any harassment is spread out until the new fish are accepted and find their place in the social ranks. Q. I have a 10g tank with 3 female mollies, 2 male mollies, and a breeding net with 7 fry in it. All day everyday, a female mollie chases all the other fish around. Is she wanting to mate? I bought all the fish about a month, so I dont know if this is normal behavior. Thanks!

A. 10 g 3 f 2 male 1 female chases every one else (this is including the females) so i dont think she want s to mate.. she s being pretty aggressive. one of your molly may fall sick due to constant stress.. you should consider putting a divider in your tank and separate the aggressive female. This will lead to jus 2 female and 2 males. the correct ratio of males and females should be 1:2 if you want your females to be stress free.. Is the aggressive fish the larger one? she might be establishing a pecking order to get at the food first. I had a female molly who kept chasing a male molly around. and the male got stressed and would keep hiding. i had to separate them and now they are fine.. hope that helped..good luck

A. The males have a modified anal fin which they use to impregnate the females. This is called the gonopodium. It can be easily seen as a "pointed bit" just near the anus. The male will swim alongside the female & stick her with this organ. He passes a packet of sperm, which the female stores in her ovaries. She can use this stored sperm to fertilise several batches of young, without further mating for a while.

A. Yes, when you get off the boat the imperial officer guy asks you your race. Under the image of your characters face on this menu are 3 bumper bars: Sex Face Hair Just press along on the 'sex' bumper bar to switch gender With most races the female starts with slightly higher intelligence, but slightly lower strength than the male.

Q. I've heard that female tarantulas are larger but I cant tell if my tarantula is male or female because when i compare it to other tarantulas it looks smaller than some & then it looks bigger than other. Is there anyother way to identify the sexuality?

Can female leopard geckos reproduce without a male?
Q. I am looking into purchasing a leopard gecko or two and was wondering if I needed to buy both a male and female for the female to reproduce. Also, even if I don't need a male for that reason, should I get one anyway to keep the other company? Or another female? Help please! Thanks, but what does infertile mean? Is it lyk, she'll lay the eggs, but they won't hatch?

A. you need a male and female. If you dont have a male, your female will still produce eggs but they will not be fertile (which means they dont have any sperm in them to create babies, they are just eggs that you can throw away, never hatch) and there is always a HUGE chance that if you get both male and female, they will not reproduce.

How do I sell a male and female bearded dragon?
Q. I have a male and female bearded dragon. One is a female giant dragon about two and a half years old and the male is a topaze dragon with a little orange on the face and a orange beard about the same age as the female. What would be the best way to sell them?

A. You can post classified ads in hte paper, even an ad in petfinder.com. There are also several sources online including classifieds, message boards and auction sites where you can post an ad. Just please make sure that whoever they go to is going to be committed to providing those animals the care they need and deserve

How do female cats act when they are in heat?
Q. I have a female cat and lately she has been acting really weird, she has been doing weird things with her hind legs.

A. They either drag their bodies on the ground and almost look like something is wrong with their legs or they stick their butts in the air. Eventually, they will start crying and whining and it is very annoying. Get her spayed and it will stop. Unspayed females also have a 70% higher risk of cancer.

How a female can get bigger arm muscles?
Q. I excercise about 4-5 days a week, doing dumbells for 2,5 pounds on my arms for about 30 mins 3 times a week. Yet they get just more toned, but I really want that sexy defined muscles. I know it's harder to do for a female, but do you have any tips on how to built defined muscular arms?

A. I am not a trainer but I would say do what you are doing but include machine pulls (forgot the exercise name) but pulling up and then down with weights on a fixed machine. Plus doing push ups, people underrate push ups but they really are muscle builders. In addition, women might not have the hormones that guys do but that doesn't mean women can't help their chances by eating more lean meat and protein in general, in their diet. Hope that helps.
