- Foundation (engineering) A foundation is a structure that transfers loads to the earth. How do you choose which foundation to use?
Q. Tradtional Strip Foundation - i am assuming this is used for residental homes and low-rise buildings?? Trench Fill Foundation - Deep Strip Foundation - Conservatorys?? Isolated pad foundation - Raft foundation - Displacement pile foundation - Replacement pile foundation - Any examples will help, for example if you have seen a certain foundation used in a certain development just whack it in!! Thanks in advanced - im trying to teach myself about foundations and have studied the drawings but i cannot work out in what situations they would be used.

Isolated pad foundation - Raft foundation - Displacement pile foundation - Replacement pile foundation - Any examples will help, for example if you have seen a certain foundation used in a certain development just whack it in!! Thanks in advanced - im trying to teach myself about foundations and have studied the drawings but i cannot work out in what situations they would be used.
